Samantha Reis

Genevieve Anderson

Genevieve is passionate about teaching dance and cheerleading to all ages! She grew up in the small country town of Eugowra, attending Lia's School of Dance for her formative years, where a deep love of dance was instilled, and her passion for teaching discovered. After leaving the sleepy, small town of Eugowra for the big bright lights of Wollongong to attend university, Genevieve realised she could not leave dance behind and became involved in the University of Wollongong's Dance Club. She took on the role of secretary in 2004 after becoming one of the club's teachers and was part of the team that won Club of the Year. After working with Samantha in Dance Club and collaborating on many dance projects, they realised their dream of owning and operating their own dance and cheer studio. NRG Studios was born.

Genevieve continued to study while the studio was in its early years, and gained her qualifications in Dance Teaching and Business Management as well as her degree in Primary and Secondary Teaching. She also holds her Associate Diploma in Speech and Drama through Trinity College.

Genevieve has been privileged to work with many dancers and cheerleaders in the Illawarra through working on Southern Stars, choreographing for the Illawarra Hawks as well teaching dance at many primary and secondary schools. Her career highlight so far has been choreographing the dance "Like a Prayer" with Samantha. This routine not only won the Australian National Championships, but went on to be selected to represent Australia at the 2014 International Cheer Union and the World Dance Championships, where they took out 3rd place in the Nations Cup.

In 2016, Genevieve and Samantha were awarded the coveted Australian Choreographer's of the Year award.

Samantha and Genevieve wanted to create a school where students could flourish, not only as dancers but as members of their community. They aim to teach in a positive way and keep giving the best opportunities to their students. They hope you and your child find their second home at NRG Studios.
